2021 HOKI May Day Invitational Meet - Long Course
From April 30 - May 2, twenty-three of our swimmers traveled to Christiansburg, VA for the HOKI May Day Invitational Meet (long course) - a great team turnout from ages 5-18! This is the first long course meet we have had in almost two years. Our 23 swimmers swam a total of 154 events, including finals. 33 of these races were first time swims.
For our older swimmers who were competing against the VT swim team - way to hang in there. There was some tough competition! A special shoutout to our two youngest swimmers, Harper Mancini and Elias Kite, for jumping in and swimming their hearts out!

15/older Swimmers: Mia Constantin (18), Lydia Couric (15), Zoe Deeble (15), Aiden Dupuis (17), Zachary Erb (16), Mia Flory (15), Eliza Thompson (16), Isaac Wenger (15), and Alexia Wright (16)

There were two swimmers that placed in the top three in seven events, with seventeen overall top 10 placements: Molly Beckwith - 200 IM (5th); Rachel Bing - 100 Breast (10th); Sadie Deeble - 100 Breast (4th), 100 Free (3rd), 200 IM (6th), 50 Breast (3rd), and 50 Free (5th); Zachary Erb - 100 Free (9th); Madison Keller - 200 Fly (8th); Hayley Mancini - 100 Breast (1st), 100 Fly (3rd), 200 IM (3rd), 400 Free (2nd), 50 Breast (5th), 50 Fly (3rd), and 50 Free (6th), and Alexia Wright - 200 Fly (9th). Of the 154 races, there were 78 best times (51%) - keep in mind, this does not include those 33 first time swimmers. WAY TO GO!!
There were FIFTY-THREE new motivational cuts achieved from B through AAA. Those swims and swimmers are called out below. Great meet, everyone!! We hope you all had fun and were encouraged by your times over the course of the weekend. Keep up the good work!
