2021 VSI Regional Summer Awards Meet - Long Course

From July 9 - June 11, twenty-five of our swimmers traveled to Christiansburg, VA for the VSI Regional Summer Awards Meet (long course) - our last open meet of the long course season before championship meets begin.  Our 25 swimmers swam a total of 135 events over the course of 3 days, with a whopping 87 best times! Fifteen of these races were first time swims. 

Congratulations to those who made new cuts for championship meets - a great wrap-up to our long course season!

8/under Swimmers: Elias Kite (7), Harper Mancini (6), and Claire Maust (8)

9-10 Swimmers: Igor Dmytriyev (9) and Isaiah Kite (9)

11-12 Swimmers: Sadie Deeble (12), Boris Dmytriyev (11), Hayley Mancini (11), Naomi Shafer (11), Brandon Smith (11), and Joe Yang (12)

13-14 Swimmers: Tommy Bill (13), Rachel Bing (14), Rebecca Couric (13), Kaleb Erb (14), Madison Keller (13), Albert Krasheninnikov (13), and Isabelle Thompson (13)  

15/older Swimmers: Lydia Couric (15), Noah Gabriele (15), Phineas Kasten (17), Dylan King (15), Cole Martin (15), Marshall Smith (15), and Isaac Wenger (15)

Thirty-five of our swimmers placed in the top ten in twenty-eight different events, with thirteen overall top 3 placements:  WAY TO GO!!

There were EIGHTY-SEVEN new motivational cuts achieved from B through AA.  Those swims and swimmers are called out below.  Great meet, everyone!! We hope you all had fun and were encouraged by your times over the course of the weekend. See you during the 2021-22 Short Course season.
