2021 VSI Long Course Age Group Championships Meet

From July 22 - June 25, 2021, eight of our 14/under swimmers traveled to Richmond, VA for the 2021 VSI Long Course Age Group Championships.  This event was a qualifying meet and our 8 participating swimmers swam a total of 34 events over the course of 3 days, with some great time drops.

Congratulations to those who made the cuts to attend the meet - a great wrap-up to our long course season!

Attending: Molly Beckwith (14), Rachael Bing (14), Julia Dunham (14), Kaleb Erb (14), Lila Gorby (12), Tessa Gorby (14, Eliza Hewitt (9), and James Hewitt (11)

Seven of our swimmers made finals, swimming twenty-five events, with 27 swims placing top sixteen in the state, 12 placing top eight in the state, and 5 swims placing top three in the state. Congratulations!

One exciting part of the meet were the relays. Our swimmers participated in quite a few, with seven of the relays placing in the top THREE: Molly Beckwith (2), Julia Dunham (1), Kaleb Erb (2), and Eliza Hewitt (2), and the 13/14 Boys 200 Medley relay team placing FIRST in the state, setting a new Gator, meet, and state record. There were some close finishes and loud cheering coming from the stands!

There were ELEVEN new motivational cuts achieved from AA through AAAA.  Those swims and swimmers are called out below.  We cannot wait to see what the 2021-22 season brings for you all!
