Future Cuts Achieved!

As our swimmers compete, it is alway encouraging to see time drops in events and a progression toward various time standards. When we share meet wrap-ups, we list the different motivational time standards swimmers have achieved: B, BB, A, AA, AAA, and AAAA. Dropping a 1/100th or 1/10th of a second counts and is progress toward the next cut. Each and every achievement is a milestone!
Beyond the B - AAAA motivational time standards, USA Swimming has a few additional time standards: Sectionals, Futures, and Junior Nationals, and Nationals. (There are more as well, but it can be a bit overwhelming!) The above graphic gives a visual summary of the progression of cuts that might help a little bit.
In December, two of our swimmers, Molly Beckwith and Zachary Erb, achieved a combined three SCY Futures Cuts while swimming at the 59th Pittsburgh Christmas Meet, with Zachary dropping additional time in two events he had previously reached a Futures Cut. Molly also met three AAAA motivational cuts and two AAA cuts while Zachary met two AAA cuts while reaching their Futures Cuts.
