2023 Southwest District 9 & Older Championship Meet | Short Course

Fifty-four of our 9 and older swimmers traveled to Christiansburg from February 24-26 for the 2023 SW District 9/Older Championship meet, working toward last minute cuts and bettering times. 

Lots of team spirit on deck over the weekend and kids cheering each other on between the Roanoke, Harrisonburg, and Charlottesville swimmers. Thanks so much for all the hard work swimmers (and parents) put in to encouraging each other. 


8/Under Swimmers: Elias Kite

13-14 Swimmers: Gage Becker, Boris Dmytriyev, Iaroslav Dobrynin, Lila Gory, James Hewitt, Jozelyn Kann, Brynna Michael-Lee, Shelby Riggleman, Naomi Shafer, Reagan Tichenor, and Joe Yang

15/Older Swimmers: Tommy Bill, Lydia Couric, Rebecca Couric, Graham DeVito, Kallie Eaton, Kaleb Erb, Zachary Erb, Mia Flory, Tessa Gorby, Madison Keller, Cole Martin, Marshall Smith, Isaac Wenger, and Abigail Younger

Our fifty-four swimmers competed in a total of 320 events over the course of three days as well as participated in many relays, with a whopping 159 best times. In addition, a total of 580.73 seconds were dropped! 

 

74 of our swimmers placed in the top ten and 36 of those placed in the top three, including TWENTY first place finishes - Great job, everyone!! 

There were 53 motivational cuts achieved as well from AA through B. Those swims and swimmers are called out below.  You all did AMAZING!
