2024 Southwest District 9 & Older Championship Meet | Short Course

This year we had forty-six of our 9 & older swimmers compete in the 2024 SW District 9/Older Championship meet in Christiansburg. We had two FIRST TIME swimmers in the water, one senior swimming her final meet of her swim career, and a whole lot of swimmers working toward personal best times as well as making both USA Swimming motivational cuts and last minute Age Group Champs qualifying times. 

Our swimmers did NOT disappoint! They have been training hard in the water (parents, we know how much time you are spending on deck and driving as well!), and the time and hard work paid off. Lots of encouragement between the Harrisonburg and Roanoke sites and even more fun on deck!

Our forty-five swimmers competed in a total of 233 races over the course of three days as well as participated in many relays, with a whopping 182 best times. In addition, a total of 599.75 seconds were dropped! 

115 of our swimmers placed in the top sixteen, 51 in the top eight, and 26 of those placed in the top three, including EIGHT first place finishes - Great job, everyone!! 

There were 65 motivational cuts achieved from AA through B. Those swims and swimmers are called out below. In addition, there were 22 age group or senior champs qualifying times. Motivational tags will be handed out by coaches soon. You all did AMAZING!
