2024 Southwest District 9 & Older Championship Meet | Short Course This year we had forty-six of our 9 & older swimmers compete in the 2024 SW District 9/Older Championship meet in Christiansburg. We had two FIRST TIME swimmers in the water, one senior swimming her final meet of her swim career, and a whole lot of swimmers working toward personal best times as well as making both USA Swimming motivational cuts and last minute Age Group Champs qualifying times. Our 2024 Swim-a-Thon (first-ever!!) has officially wrapped up, laps have been counted, and all the numbers are in! FIFTY-TWO of our swimmers worked hard at securing sponsorships to raise a total of $14,004.05 through our 190 donors! To say we are overwhelmed would be an understatement. The intial $10,000 goal was passed...and not in a small way! Whether it was 16 laps or 400, every single lap helped us toward our goal. 2024 Southwest District 8 & Under Championship Meet | Short Course On February 10-11, nine of our youngest swimmers traveled to Roanoke for the 2024 SW District 8/Under Championship meet, showing off by dropping some great time and getting several opportunities to be on the podium. As we move into our last short course meets of the season, swimmers have another chance to achieve qualifying cuts and attend either the Age Group Championship meet (14/under) or the Senior Championship meet (15/older). 2024 Cavalier Winter Rumble Meet Results | Short Course From January 13-14, thirty-nine of our swimmers traveled to Charlottesville for the 2024 Cavalier Winter Rumble. Our team swam a total of 179 events over the course of two days; twelve of these races were first time swims, and 108 were best times. In addition, a total of 359.83 seconds were dropped!!!!
