2021 GATR Summer Classic Meet - Long Course From June 18 - June 20, thirty-five of our swimmers attended a local meet in Waynesboro, VA for the GATR Summer Classic Meet (long course), hosted by one of our fellow Gator teams. Our 35 swimmers swam a total of 212 events over the course of 3 days. 52 of these races were first time swims. Gators Give Back team (not all pictured) The Virginia Gators of Harrisonburg joined with the Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department on June 12th to help prepare the Dream Come True Playground for re-opening. The playground has been closed since March of 2020, so over the course of the last year (and a bit), the facilities needed some sprucing up: mulching, painting, removal of debris, and cleaning of the equipment. 2021 Andrew Hartle Invitational Meet - Long Course From June 4 - June 5, twenty-nine of our swimmers traveled to Greensboro, NC for the Andrew Hartle Invitational Meet (long course) - a great team turnout from ages 5-18! This was a new-to-our-team long course meet held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Our 29 swimmers swam a total of 163 events over the course of 2 days. 46 of these races were first time swims. 2021 HOKI May Day Invitational Meet - Long Course From April 30 - May 2, twenty-three of our swimmers traveled to Christiansburg, VA for the HOKI May Day Invitational Meet (long course) - a great team turnout from ages 5-18! This is the first long course meet we have had in almost two years. Our 23 swimmers swam a total of 154 events, including finals. 33 of these races were first time swims. We started the day with a goal to raise $3,000, but our BIG goal was to have the most donors from 1-2pm. As a team, we unlocked the $1,750 prize we were hoping for with our 110+ donors! You all did AMAZING! The BEST part of today was knowing that as a community, the Great Community Give raised over $1.7 MILLION for 100+ local non-profits. That's truly overwhelming to know what a difference that will make in our community as a whole! After all is totaled, our team raised $4,596.88....

2021 ISCA International Senior Cup and ISCA East Elite Showcase From March 23 - March 27 and March 30 - April 3, nine of our swimmers (one senior and eight 14/under) traveled to warm and sunny (well, most days!) Florida to wrap up their short course season. While not enjoying the nearby sandy beaches, they were on deck participating in a busy meet. 2021 SwimRVA Shamrock Showcase - Senior Meet From March 26 - March 28, five of our senior swimmers traveled to Richmond, VA for a final local meet of the short course season.
